Four Facilities Awarded for Delivering Quality Care
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Four California skilled nursing facilities have been selected by the American Health Care Association as recipients of the national 2013 Silver – Achievement in Quality award. This is the second level in the AHCA National Quality Award program and recognizes a significant step toward performance excellence.
This year, 59 facilities across the country achieved the Silver award.
The four California facilities are: Country Villa Monrovia Villa Maria Healthcare, Santa Maria Pacific Coast Manor, Capitola Turlock Nursing and Rehabilitation
The awards are based on the core values and concepts of the Baldrige Health Care Criteria – a national quality award program with three progressive step levels; Bronze, Silver and Gold. Applications are judged by trained examiners who provide feedback on opportunities for continuous improvements. Facilities must achieve an award at each level to progress to the next.
“This is a notable achievement,” said Jim Gomez, CAHF CEO/president. “These members stand apart in demonstrating an ongoing commitment to deliver the best possible care to our residents.”
This is the third year that CAHF members have earned four Silver Quality Awards. In all, 13 California facilities have achieved the silver step level.
